TAP
Jr Hip Stomp & Boys Hip Stomp Ages: 5 - 7 ( 1 HR per week ) Jr Hip Stomp is a combination of tap I, hip jazz I & tumbling. The student learns basic tap i.e. toe touches, shuffles, ball changes and jumps / basic jazz i.e., bending, jumping, gliding, darting, stretching and turning / basic tumbling i.e. somersaults, cartwheels and bridges.
Tap I Ages: 8 - 10 ( 1HR per week ) Tap I students begin learning a series of regulated and controlled rhythmical movements of the feet and body. At this level the students start to perfect the shuffle, shuffle ball change, flaps, cramp-roll, buffalo,Maxi Ford and basic drawbacks.
Tap II Ages: 10 - 13 ( 1 - 2 HRS per week ) Tap II students should be proficient with the level I skills adding toe stands, pull backs, wings and will start to learn more syncopation and cappella dancing.
Tap III Ages: 14 & up ( 1 - 3 HRS a week ) Tap III students should be proficient with both level I & II skills.
Adult Tap Ages: 18 & up ( 1 HR per week ) Adult Tap begins the study of basic tap skills much the same as in level I & II.
JAZZ
Jazz I *See Jr. Hip stomp*
Jazz II Ages: 8 - 10 ( I HR pre week) Jazz II students will start to become proficient with a progressive system of exercises for physical toning and strengthening the body. They will learn dance combinations that teach the seven basic movements of dance i.e., bending, jumping, gliding, darting, stretching, turning and posed or raised moves.
Jazz III Ages: 11 & up ( 1 - 3 HRS a week ) Jazz III students should be proficient with level II skills and will begin to learn more challenging choreography.
HIP HOP
Jr Hip Hop **Listed under Tap**
Pre Teen Hip Hop Ages: 8 - 12 ( 1- 2 HRS pre week ) Jr Hip Hop students will learn a fast paced energetic dance style evolving from jazz, african and street dancing.
Teen / Adult Hip Hop Ages: 13 & up ( i - 2 HRS a week ) Teen / Adult Hip Hop is for the older student who wants to learn this dance form or who has already become proficient with the freestyle movements.
MODERN
Modern Ages 10 & up ( 1 - 1.5 HRS pre week ) Modern students will learn intellectual approaches to movement to create specific forms, and designs to achieve specific ends. In general, there is a greater flexibility of the upper body and torso signifying the expression from the soul as opposed to ballet which basically teaches a controlled and specifically placed torso.
