Glenwood Dance Academy introduces the latest in ballet inspired fitness classes, we call Barre Fit. It is a combination of dance conditioning, isometric exercise, toning and stretching. This program will strengthen the whole core through small movements that create little pressure on joints. It is somewhat similar to our Pilates program, but for women it concentrates somewhat more on the hips and thighs. It is also a great way to increase flexibility. Whether you have been working out or not, if you can walk you can take a Barre Fit class.

Classes begin on January 2 and will continue on Monday  and Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. and Wednesday at 6 P.M. Come try it out. $10 dollar per class with a punch pass or $12 drop in.

Our new ACRO classes on Mondays are being taught by Alex DeLeo. Alex was an instructor in acrobatics and tumbling at the recently closed Kids Plex. She offers a class for the 5 to 8 year old and will offer a class for older kids when the demand arises. The cost is only $48 per month. Get your kids active and learn some tumbling.

Hip-Hop is back. An original hip-hop class emphasizing the culture and history of this art form.
Friday's at 4:15 to 5:30. $10 drop in fee. First class free.

Policy Statement:

This Glenwood Dance Academy policy statement will become effective with the 2010 fall session which begins August 30, 2010.

To assist families in making the session payments for their fall dance classes, we are offering those who pay the entire session fee at registration time a 5% discount on the total due for dance classes only. This will not apply to costume deposits or performance fees.

All new or returning students must register for class and pay at least the first months session fee before beginning any class.

There will be absolutely no exceptions.

For those who would prefer to pay monthly we will still offer that option with a couple of caveats. If you wish to pay monthly by credit card or debit card, we will charge a 3% service charge on the total amount due at registration.

For those that would prefer to pay monthly by check we will still offer that option, however we must have a credit card or debit card number on file. In the event the monthly fee is not paid by the 10th of each month, the credit card or debit card will be charged for the monthly amount due plus a 3% service charge.

For more info, call 945-2717, e-mail dance@sopris.net or stop by the studio at 100 Midland Avenue, Suite 230 in Glenwood Springs.
